Kundalini Yoga uses a specific series of yoga postures (asana), breathing (pranayama), chanting of mantra and meditation techniques to bring about a relaxed state of mind, to re-connect with the body and to re-align with life's natural rhythm. The practice helps to develop strength, a healthier body, a more balanced glandular system and an overall lightness of being. Each class begins with a period of tuning in and is followed by a warm-up to bring vitality to the spine. The class ends with a meditation, often with a special focus, and a closing mantra.
